IPL day 6[24/04/09]--The best day of cricket (yet)...

Oh my gosh!!what a day of cricket....Ya we had the first tie in IPL. (unfortunately) I thought rain is going to ruin(yet again) the RR Vs KKR match after seeing the initial shower and prefered to watch a movie :(..Came back just in time to see the Super over where Yusuf was too good!I could not wait to see the highlights :)

Earlier in the day we had another close match where two batting heavyweights (atleast on paper) Delhi and Chennai squared off...Delhi had the worst possible start loosing both their openers Gambhir ad Viru but Dilshan and AB Devillers sizzled on a belter of a pitch (hitting through the line and driving on the up) Devillers went on to make the first century in this edition of IPL.Dilshan made 50 as they set an imposing target of 190.

If at all they(Chennai) have a chance to chase it down they knew they need a good start and they were off straight away flourishing to 57 off 5 overs when Patel fell to young Sangwan and things looked well in control @ 106/2 off 10 overs during the stratergic timeout.But immediately after the break Dhoni got out and when a set Raina threw it away after making 41 off 27 the target became stiff but still chaseable (for the likes of Flintoff n A.Morkel) but some clever bowling and good fielding did them in.

It was the first high scoring close game like a good (engaging) movie and after hearing news of rain in capetown (as I told earlier) I thought I wasnt going to let rain ruin my day again and went for a movie...It was all good...felt like having seen a back to back movie on a weekend(local holiday here due to general strike) untill i checked the scores...Ah!If only i knew there was a better(thriller)movie in the offering... *sigh* life!! :(

IPL heading in to an exciting (last) week!

It is getting very exciting as we head in to the last week of the IPL and still any of the 6 teams(except Delhi&KKR) are in the running for the remaning 3 semi final spots after Delhi has already qualified.The last 2 days saw 3 very closely fought matches which could have gone either way and still the table is finely balanced!With the gap closing and teams swaping positions with every match I guess some *heart breaks* are in store for some teams this week! On Wed(13/5/09) DC looked well set to win the match till Symonds and Gilli where going in full flow but lost track in the end to loose by 12 runs against Delhi.Yesterday Hayden was in his elements as usual(he has amassed 486 @ an amazing avg of 48.6 so far..) as Chennai got off to a flier yet again but when he left the crease with Chennai at 101/4 off 13 Overs they collapsed to 129 which was chased down by BRC(thanks mainly to Taylor and V.Kohli) with 2 balls to spare but certainly it was not as easy as it looked on the score...

[Movie Review]Avatar--a real dream!

After days of viral fever and a marathon exam schedule,I was tired mentally and physically when i lay down on my seat!And soon I was seeing floating mountains,wierd flying creatures,bright neon like glowing structures,exotic flowers u have hardly seen before,a tree of souls through which u can speak to your forefathers and many more...The dream was chimerical.The dream was pleasant and eye catching.The dream was 'Avatar'. But sooner or later though you have to wake up and you just cant ignore the facts . The same old hackneyed story of 'Man Vs Alien' and the same old characters we have read and have seen in many old classics.No price for guessing what Cameron was concentrating on in this million dollar venture.This is not a movie made on just a wild thought.This is cerebral.In this 3 long hours episode he introduces us to a unique/wierd race and as the protagonist learn from the female lead in the story abt their traditions and culture you would too but after abt 70/...

MOM : BOLLYWOOD MUSIC REVIEW

                            We in India tend to forget that the film music composers are giving us film music albums and not their own music albums.I always hear my friends say ARR hasnt done well in this album when they dont get any melodious love song or a rock/metal rhythm song etc. I thought I will review MOM movie's music (more of a first impression really) and see what happens..  O Sona Tere Liye: A typical ARR adagio melody about a mom's wishes for her daughter that slowly grows on you with an enduring quality. Yes we have heard it before but the way he blows freshness in to every song is amazing: It was the same window; It was the Same season; It was evening again; but today the wind was magically different!
