Inception of our journey with DOMS

(written for a newsletter in D.O.M.S,IIT Roorkee)
     A journey of thousand miles start with a single step.So did ours,a huge defining step in our careers.As we were walking towards DOMS, with every step excitement coupled with apprehensions increased.Adrenaline rushed.It was the best walk we have had in this high humid weather till now.When we shifted our focus from the lush green campus to allow ourselves a generous look at all the new faces of our batch girls we knew in  our hearts that this journey of thousand miles is not just going to be rigorous but also pleasant.

    We were in our classes then,still no relief from the high humidity when we got the first sight of our professors of Department Of Management Studies(DOMS).Prof.Nangia sir is the only face most of us could recognize as we were in his panel for the interview for admission.It wasnt long before he started introducing all the Professors.Then they gave a short introduction of themselves.Soon we realized what all those big talks of IIT's professors were all about.

      When Nangia Sir realized that the clock ticked past one o clock he had to stop on the introduction he was giving on the city of Roorkee and on the history of this prestigious institute and our first class in DOMS,IIT Roorkee had come to an end.But we had to wait till the next day to know what some professors meant when they said they expect every one to be on time for their classes.

       So it had started,this journey of thousand miles on a crowded superfast highway filled with so many exciting oppurtunities on either side and the suspense of the route ahead adding excitment and 
thrill to it.By then we had convinced ourselves that we are going to make this journey of ours memorable because sometimes in life it's not the destination but the journey that's more enjoyable.

IPL heading in to an exciting (last) week!

It is getting very exciting as we head in to the last week of the IPL and still any of the 6 teams(except Delhi&KKR) are in the running for the remaning 3 semi final spots after Delhi has already qualified.The last 2 days saw 3 very closely fought matches which could have gone either way and still the table is finely balanced!With the gap closing and teams swaping positions with every match I guess some *heart breaks* are in store for some teams this week! On Wed(13/5/09) DC looked well set to win the match till Symonds and Gilli where going in full flow but lost track in the end to loose by 12 runs against Delhi.Yesterday Hayden was in his elements as usual(he has amassed 486 @ an amazing avg of 48.6 so far..) as Chennai got off to a flier yet again but when he left the crease with Chennai at 101/4 off 13 Overs they collapsed to 129 which was chased down by BRC(thanks mainly to Taylor and V.Kohli) with 2 balls to spare but certainly it was not as easy as it looked on the score...

[Movie Review]Avatar--a real dream!

After days of viral fever and a marathon exam schedule,I was tired mentally and physically when i lay down on my seat!And soon I was seeing floating mountains,wierd flying creatures,bright neon like glowing structures,exotic flowers u have hardly seen before,a tree of souls through which u can speak to your forefathers and many more...The dream was chimerical.The dream was pleasant and eye catching.The dream was 'Avatar'. But sooner or later though you have to wake up and you just cant ignore the facts . The same old hackneyed story of 'Man Vs Alien' and the same old characters we have read and have seen in many old classics.No price for guessing what Cameron was concentrating on in this million dollar venture.This is not a movie made on just a wild thought.This is cerebral.In this 3 long hours episode he introduces us to a unique/wierd race and as the protagonist learn from the female lead in the story abt their traditions and culture you would too but after abt 70/...

MOM : BOLLYWOOD MUSIC REVIEW

                            We in India tend to forget that the film music composers are giving us film music albums and not their own music albums.I always hear my friends say ARR hasnt done well in this album when they dont get any melodious love song or a rock/metal rhythm song etc. I thought I will review MOM movie's music (more of a first impression really) and see what happens..  O Sona Tere Liye: A typical ARR adagio melody about a mom's wishes for her daughter that slowly grows on you with an enduring quality. Yes we have heard it before but the way he blows freshness in to every song is amazing: It was the same window; It was the Same season; It was evening again; but today the wind was magically different!
