BRC,MI move up the table.
After reading a bit too much stuff about some of the craziest languages in software over the past 2 days, well definitely not as crazy as English where your noses(should this be singular? help me...*english freaks*) run and feet smell, pronunciations based on their origin, the way u read the same word determines tense....sigh..I am not good at hitting the bulls eye,am I? I dont know if you want me to, but somehow am getting carried away..but that is not your concern,is it?Atleast I guess I should not be corncerned abt it..actually I am not!But what should be the point of concern is that you have not yet got the point(if u r concerned abt the point/message)!Dont think you have missed it because you have not!I just let myself got carried away, deep.(*spur of the moment* thing)!Let this be a vague start!we will discuss the match in the next para!
After being little bit stressed over the past couple of days(which I guess is already evident :) ) I was hoping for a good win for Punjab which would have been really refreshing after the disappointment of missing the high scoring thriller between KKR[Mcculum] and KKR[Taylor] (earlier)! It was a shabby performance with the bat by Punjab after they had chose to bat.In fact their batting has been very inconsistent through out the tournament and it might as well cost them the tournament.Except for a Sohal blitz at the start(43 off 23),and almost a run a ball 20 by K.Goel no one else made a big contribution.Actually the next highest contributor was the extras with 18 runs and PKXI could manage only 119 runs! For MI,though Jayasuriya and Rahane fell early, aggressive Bravo(70) and Sachin(41) got them home safe early in the 17th over itself.
It has taken B.Mcculum 11 matches to hit form as he made unbeaten 84 off 64 after opening and along with D.Hussey's 41 in the later half of the innings took KKR to 173 which I guess is their highest total in the tournament! In reply BRC got off to a slow start as Ryder and Kallis got out after getting set and when Uthapa departed at 74/3 in the 11th over and as R.Taylor was walking in still BRC requiring 100 in 9 overs, KKR would have thought they had bagged the match because they surely would not have thought Taylor would have made 81 after facing 33 balls, 40 mins later!Amazingly BRC won with 4 balls to spare.
Yesterday(11th may) RR innings never got off in reply to DC's 166 (which is mainly due to Smith's 47) as Asnodkar was the only batsman to go past 20 and after he was run out for 44 RR were easily skittled out for 113.
12/5/09
MI bt PKXI by 8 wickets.
BRC bt KKR by 6 wickets.
11/5/09
DC bt RR by 53 runs.
