IPL heading in to an exciting (last) week!
It is getting very exciting as we head in to the last week of the IPL and still any of the 6 teams(except Delhi&KKR) are in the running for the remaning 3 semi final spots after Delhi has already qualified. The last 2 days saw 3 very closely fought matches which could have gone either way and still the table is finely balanced! With the gap closing and teams swaping positions with every match I guess some *heart breaks* are in store for some teams this week!
On Wed(13/5/09) DC looked well set to win the match till Symonds and Gilli where going in full flow but lost track in the end to loose by 12 runs against Delhi.Yesterday Hayden was in his elements as usual(he has amassed 486 @ an amazing avg of 48.6 so far..) as Chennai got off to a flier yet again but when he left the crease with Chennai at 101/4 off 13 Overs they collapsed to 129 which was chased down by BRC(thanks mainly to Taylor and V.Kohli) with 2 balls to spare but certainly it was not as easy as it looked on the scoreboard.
The second match yesterday was between MI and RR both needing a win to brighten their chance of qualifying.RR posted a well constructed 145.In reply MI lost early wickets (mainly low profile batsmen) but was put back on track by Sachin who came in the middle order. The highlight of the match was the 16th over by Warne against (a well set) Sachin with game evenly poised with MI needing 42 from 5 overs.Old memories of Sharjah '98(Ind Vs Aus) came flooding back. This time though Sachin was plumbed in front of the wicket by Warne (otherwise MI might have won it easily). But Nayar kept fighting and got them so near yet it was so far as they could not knock out the required 4 runs off the last over as RR were very tight in their fielding and accurate in their thowing even in the nervy last over.Amazing game!

PKXI Vs DD-Preview: (*getting bored of 'discussing match' syndrome*)
Later today Punjab desperate for a win faces Delhi and its high time Yuvi and Co pull up their socks and put up a good show if they want to entertain any chance of entering semifinals. With B.Lee back, bowling attack looks al right but their batting has left a lot to be desired. As for league leaders Delhi they have got in to a winning habit but they definetly doesnt look invincible like the ones you will associate with top teams. They too clearly have lots of room to improve and it should be a good close game if Punjab's batting clicks!Looking forward to it! :)
13/5/09
DD bt DC by 12 runs.
14/05/09
BRC bt CSK by 2 wickets.
