One day in 2003. . .




This is a real incident that happened.Time,date mentioned are not accurate.And to many,the year may not matter but it might to Some of you.It was first half of 2003.

Time: 11:15 AM
                 Hearing my answer some of the girls of my class giggled.I was still standing with still head not interested to know who giggled.From the direction it came from I probably guessed who it could be.The teacher was clearly not expecting what I said.So he asked again what I said.I said the same name again and the class went silent waiting for me to tell them why I had told that name.

                          Those days I was not a movie freak as I am now.I used to see movies only when I am really stressed out..like after semester exams or during festival time.But I was the same die hard cricket fan and followed the game closely.

I was yet to hear about Dhoni then.Those days Ganguly(dada) was the captain of our Indian team.There used to be talks of how Ganguly has changed the atmosphere inside the dressing room for the new players.How in 90s there always used to be uneasiness between the senior cricketers and the new young players.Having went through it all himself dada had decided that the new youngsters coming in are not going to go through the same.

Time: 11:00 AM
                      The class went silent as the bell rang and it was time for my English class.The professor came in.The routines of attendance and the request for the board to be cleaned are over.There were a few people in my class who did their schooling in Tamil and they were still very low on confidence in our English class.So he always made all of us talk more in the initial period in the class and esp encouraged them to break their shell.That day he asked  everyone to think of a leader and asked to say something about them after 5 mins.I had made up my mind that I am going to speak abt some one from sports.

                    When the teacher asked again what I said. I repeated "Sourav Ganguly".I continued(probably exaggerating), "Sir,Cricket is a team game and I like what I read about Ganguly.Even in the recent World cup he made mini captains for each department like batting,feilding,bowling.So this empowerment enabled every one to give their best and they also beleived that they are contributing to win and it increased their self confidence.That explains our good run in this World Cup.But Aus. are a very aggresive team and they are playing in a different league.It will take time for us to catch up with them.But we have the potential!"

               There was a reason Why I had made up my mind to talk about sports.It wont really matter if I am convinced Dada is a great captain.Those days every one around me was of the opinion that watching Cricket is a waste of time.It can not help you in any way.My mom always used to say "While the crickers make crores of money you people who watch are only going to fail in exams and I wil get you some oxen when you fail :) "(Englished line) .So I always used to talk about sports at every given opportunity. As if to make an implied point that watching cricket is not all bad.

                 That is all about that incident that day.Now when I think about that day again about girls' giggling I wonder if any girl would giggle these days (now in my college) .Every where(around my place in TN) I see a trend that more girls are starting to follow sports like Cricket,Soccer etc.In cricket's case I think it is T20 n IPL that had brought a lots of girls to follow the game passionately.Now this is just my personal opinion and I may be 100% wrong.I dont really care whether you girls are following sports from an ancient pre historic age or if you dont give a damn about the game even now.But just thought of writing what I thought...:)

IPL heading in to an exciting (last) week!

It is getting very exciting as we head in to the last week of the IPL and still any of the 6 teams(except Delhi&KKR) are in the running for the remaning 3 semi final spots after Delhi has already qualified.The last 2 days saw 3 very closely fought matches which could have gone either way and still the table is finely balanced!With the gap closing and teams swaping positions with every match I guess some *heart breaks* are in store for some teams this week! [Movie Review]Avatar--a real dream!

After days of viral fever and a marathon exam schedule,I was tired mentally and physically when i lay down on my seat!And soon I was seeing floating mountains,wierd flying creatures,bright neon like glowing structures,exotic flowers u have hardly seen before,a tree of souls through which u can speak to your forefathers and many more...The dream was chimerical.The dream was pleasant and eye catching.The dream was 'Avatar'. But sooner or later though you have to wake up and you just cant ignore the facts . The same old hackneyed story of 'Man Vs Alien' and the same old characters we have read and have seen in many old classics.No price for guessing what Cameron was concentrating on in this million dollar venture.This is not a movie made on just a wild thought.This is cerebral.In this 3 long hours episode he introduces us to a unique/wierd race and as the protagonist learn from the female lead in the story abt their traditions and culture you would too but after abt 70/...

MOM : BOLLYWOOD MUSIC REVIEW

                            We in India tend to forget that the film music composers are giving us film music albums and not their own music albums.I always hear my friends say ARR hasnt done well in this album when they dont get any melodious love song or a rock/metal rhythm song etc. I thought I will review MOM movie's music (more of a first impression really) and see what happens..  O Sona Tere Liye: A typical ARR adagio melody about a mom's wishes for her daughter that slowly grows on you with an enduring quality. Yes we have heard it before but the way he blows freshness in to every song is amazing: It was the same window; It was the Same season; It was evening again; but today the wind was magically different!
