MOM : BOLLYWOOD MUSIC REVIEW

Image
We in India tend to forget that the film music composers are giving us film music albums and not their own music albums.I always hear my friends say ARR hasnt done well in this album when they dont get any melodious love song or a rock/metal rhythm song etc. I thought I will review MOM movie's music (more of a first impression really) and see what happens..  O Sona Tere Liye: A typical ARR adagio melody about a mom's wishes for her daughter that slowly grows on you with an enduring quality. Yes we have heard it before but the way he blows freshness in to every song is amazing: It was the same window; It was the Same season; It was evening again; but today the wind was magically different! Kooke Kawn: An interesting attempt/experiment.  It has the energy of a party song and interesting 'crow calls' but I am not sure why it fell flat to me personally..May be I have to listen more to start to like it but it's not in my 'now

World of peace and universal brotherhood through music

Image
Arts is beautiful! Artists makes the world beautiful. They create these beautiful perceptions of the world where we can live and dine, although fleetingly . Great artists have been great characters. Here are my four fav. moments of the Beautiful perceptions of the world created through music by great composers/song writers in the last 3 centuries.     Ludwig Van Beethoven (1824):     Ludwig Van Beethoven believed in universal brotherhood and equality of men.  He had all the reasons to hope for with monarchy overthrown as the French Revolution set in in the 1790s.  But as it culminated in dictatorship of Napoleon,  he was dejected.  Napoleon fell from hero to zero in  Beethoven's heart.   But Beethoven never lost faith in the goodness of man kind and the utopian ideals of universal brotherhood.  This culminates in him using the  text of Friedrich Schiller's ' an die freude'..  popularly known as' Ode to Joy' for his last and final symphony which is a

Live and let Live!

You love the food, You tell your neighbors, That (only)hotel(that) serves great food! You have been taught! You should eat this! You should not eat like that! Sin this and You are doomed that! It's all about the food stupid! Hell! There's no Cupid! What's in a hotel? All plates are sacred!! Christians, Muslims & Hindus and, The mortal holy ones, surviving on man's aids, Pray to your God for us,mankind! Live and let others live ! There's no consceince like Animals; We need a Judiciary system! We are bad only by how much they know! We get punished only by how much of it is proved! We all know how to live! We all know the right way to live! Even if there's a modicum of virtue, We will live and let others live!

Guilt-The enemy within. . .

Guilt-The enemy within . . .  Culpable soul purloin pardon From the convicted(innocent) mind; Enervates,un-aware of the panacea; Burr under the saddle was his own heart Obvious peril's an apparent mirage; Obdurate mind extenuates insouciantly. Slef-destructs till hopes laid to waste, Leads self down the garden path.  Every guilty man is his own hangman!!                               - Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Made this from the lyrics in the movie Lootera after enjoying the movie..Such a pleasing watch !!!

Lootera -- Movie Review!

Image
Love.Pure love. Not just between any two people.Between two characters( inspired by 'The Last Leaf' I presume). Both the characters played seemlessly by two good actors.      Now place this love in a historical background in 1950s where excavations, artifacts and a zameendar fit in so perfectly .Colour them with good supporting casts.           As good as it sounds already,it's definetly not enough to make a good movie. If I became a fan of Vikramaditya Motwane after Udaan, then I dont know what Lootera has done to me.I think I respect his art skill even more now.             The way he has captured the emotions in every scene which is highlighted in every frame by very appropriate music and amazingly wonderful lyrics. That is what makes it a beautiful poem. It always turns me on whenever there is meaningful lyrics/music.The kind that happens ( more often than not) on A.R.R songs. The lyrics were beautiful. By the way,did I tell you the lyrics we

SEA SHORE

All the sea shore’s also an ocean, Waves of emotions rises n falls, Never ceasing and never is ending, In every human and between them. Friendship, affection, indulgence, Love, lovesickness, pangs, Lust, envy, ogles, Waves of emotions rises n falls. Moon residing in the Ivory tower, Breaking solitude frequents only the sea, But never the seashore because No greed,no deceit,no tiff!
