Booring..boring..25/01/2010

Yesterday.... Hmm,So what's up friends?Well they say that 'Nothing is impossible' and how true??I am just finding out that sitting idle and useless and doing nothing is the most difficult thing to do.If life was boring last week it just got worse this week and after missing out on calls from SCMHRD by 3 marks and IB course from SIIB(well it always happens with me..) I wasnt in the best of the moods yesterday! So decided to watch some movies to feel good. First up,Naanayam.A cliched hollywood style twisted plot though rarely seen in Tamil cinemas, and average performances (esp. the female lead, whom Prasanna romances, I thought was terrible) didnt make a spectacular viewing. But the two male heroes were (sort of)ok and they carry the movie.Heist is my favourite genre and having seen an awful lot of movies of this genre i found it cliched and mundane. But anyone who havent seen much of this genre will find it really exciting and if u r just a typical Tamil cinema's fan,here...

21 Jan 2010--A look into a day in my life!

Hmm..It's 21st Jan 2010 and 3:33 PM 25 sec and counting now...Why I am telling you this??Bcoz am bored!Bored like hell.So I thought I would scribble abt how the day went..So it will be! The room was full of Jasmine's fragrance as sweet as her.she was sitting opposite me looking as spicy as the biriyani we just had.It is amazing how girls could look so pert even after a long day.Hmm,I wonder if girls should thank the cosmetics or the cosmetic business should thank them! It was around 11:30 in the night and we were just done with our dinner in 'You name it' restraunt and now it was time to go home. And when she puts that gorgeous smile on her face (perhaps) for one last time before we depart, something struck me!What was happening??I want to kiss her!Oh,common.. I cant!Well... Why not??'cold war in the mind' uff!!Tring tring..Tring tring...Now what?Who knows!!May be I would have known what it feels like to kiss a girl if my cell didnt ring! My hands scr...

[Movie Review]Yet another (movie) treat..have u guessed it?

Though, these days in real life am very bored, the reel stories I have been seeing on screen of late have been quite exemplary.Last week I told you abt how my 'Avatar' dream was a visual spectacle and today was yet another treat but this time the difference is that Selvaraghavan took me on a journey back in time to meet the Cholas of the 12th century and the journey was brutal with hidden dangers like spate of snakes, indigenous tribes etc and it was washed with blood and more blood!Ya,the journey was 'Aayirathil Oruvan'. There are lots of things new about this movie which is very refreshing to see in Tamil cinema(Kollywood).[I dont know why but i like it as 'Tamil cinema' rather than kollywood].The first thing was the genre which (I would say) was history/war/fiction genre. The next refreshing thing to see was that it was not a hero/heroine(2 heroines) going on this dangerous journey, romancing along the way but rather this is 3 different characters(A forrest ...

[Movie Review]Avatar--a real dream!

After days of viral fever and a marathon exam schedule,I was tired mentally and physically when i lay down on my seat! And soon I was seeing floating mountains, wierd flying creatures, bright neon like glowing structures, exotic flowers u have hardly seen before,a tree of souls through which u can speak to your forefathers and many more...The dream was chimerical. The dream was pleasant and eye catching. The dream was 'Avatar'. But sooner or later though you have to wake up and you just cant ignore the facts . The same old hackneyed story of 'Man Vs Alien' and the same old characters we have read and have seen in many old classics. No price for guessing what Cameron was concentrating on in this million dollar venture. This is not a movie made on just a wild thought. This is cerebral. In this 3 long hours episode he introduces us to a unique/wierd race and as the protagonist learn from the female lead in the story abt their traditions and culture you would too but after abt 70/...

The Cricket-The beautiful game

It was late 1990s('98 or '99).As the clock went past 8 I became fidgety as I had to go to school before 9:00.No not because I did not finish my homework.(Somedays I eluded, got punished some other days, but it never corncerned me(that I did not finish my homework) or occupied my mind). There was some other reason that day.Ding Ding!'Cycle bell Sound'...Sound which I had been waiting to hear,The guy who distribute the dailies!Ya, I had been waiting for 'The Hindu' that day because that was the only way I knew what happened the previous day at the final of the India's premier(and historic) domestic competition The Ranji Trophy(named after Shri.Ranjit Singhji a great batsman(played for England) and a King during the 1900s). During those days there were no full time commited Indian news channels like today (which has opinion on almost anything and everything) and cricket's market was stil in its infant stage and there was no comprehensive coverage of the dome...

A study of past recessions

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2009/01/26/business/economy/20090126-recessions-graphic.html A very informative link which studies all the major recession(in US) since the great depression! The theory of keynes's (keynesian economics) in combating recession which supports the circulation of money by goverment (bu buying or reducing rates) was titled not pragmatic as it virtually had no effect during the recession in 1960 till the economy recovered, was again endorsed in 1980 when Reagan reduced the regulations and introduced tax cut which increased the spending and it(increased spending) led to recovery the very next year.(In 1960 it had taken a lot of time to have effect). The credit crunch in 1990 caused by the tight monetary policy (to combat the rising inflation) was again restored when Alan(then fed Chairman) cut the federal funds rate several times(sometimes boldly as Glen Hubbard puts it :) ).It was the same story(in combating) in 2001 when GDP falls though this tim...
